Listserv
MassRecycle has been maintaining a listserv since February 2001. There
are 315 listserv members, with more signing on everyday. The listserv
is intended to provide subscribers with quick access to information,
such as waste reduction policies, state budget news, program
consultation, event announcements, publications, and grants.
Sample listserv inquires include:
- Do you know where I can find information regarding
how long it takes material to disintegrate in a landfill?
- Do any towns/cities still provide a loose leaf
pick-up service? By "loose" leaf I mean the town vacuums up leaves at
curbside.
Are there any towns that offer a fee for service bag pick-up program
for leaves?
- Does anyone have a video I could put on our local
cable access that shows how recyclables are processed?
- The City is looking for other municipalities who
began a PAYT program with one size bag, then subsequently decided to
offer two bag sizes after the program started. They are specifically
interested in learning whether these municipalities experienced a
reduction in revenue as a result of this change.
