Are you passionate about protecting the environment? Would you enjoy a job working for a nonprofit
whose mission is to increase recycling across the state? MassRecycle, Massachusetts’ state-wide
recycling coalition, is seeking a part-time (20 hrs/week) administrative and program assistant to manage
the day-to-day administrative operations of the organization and provide program support to the
Executive Director.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years pervious administrative experience. S/he will have a
high level of proficiency with computers and the web and also possess basic accounting and finance
knowledge. S/he will be highly organized and detail-oriented. A flexible schedule is desired with some
evening and weekend work required.
The Administrative/Program Assistant is a new position and will be one of two employees.
Administrative work will be conducted out of a small office in the Boston area; some may be done from
a home office as well.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Responsible for most of the organization’s day-to-day administrative duties.
• Manage membership and donor information , annual appeal, renewal and acknowledgements.
• Manage billing and invoicing process including maintaining and updating QuickBooks.
• Produce monthly accounting reports.
• Provide support for annual conference, recycling awards, and other programs as needed.
• Assist with maintaining website and other online accounts.
• Provide additional project-based programmatic support as time and skills allow.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have at least two full years administrative experience.
• Fluency with Microsoft Office required.
• Experience with QuickBooks.
• Familiarity with Salesforce or other donor software a plus.
• Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Nonprofit experience a plus.
• Concern for protecting the environment required.
This is a permanent position.
