MassRecycle's Recycling for Donations Programs
What on earth are you
going to do with your old cell phone? RECYCLE
IT! And
help people in need.
Donate your old cell phone to MassRecycle through Charitable Recycling's
cell phone
recycling program. All cell phones, regardless of age or condition,
will be accepted. MassRecycle will receive a monetary donation for each
phone received.
Donated used cell phones will be refurbished and put to
further use. Many phones are donated to shelters for abused adults and
children so they may have 911 (emergency only) communication.
Charitable Recycling also provides cell phones to medical patients who
are awaiting organ transplants. Some phones are
refurbished and redeployed in areas of the world where there are no
land (wire) lines or where the cost of a new phone is prohibitive.
Phones that cannot be refurbished or donated are recycled in an
environmentally-responsible manner.

Have
an old digital camera, iPod, palm pilot or PDA?
Recycle it with Recycling
for Charities (RFC) and
MassRecycle will receive a donation! Whether
it is broken or just out of date RFC will either reuse or recycle your
old
device.
Here’s
how:
- Use sturdy, undamaged,
corrugated boxes for packing
your devices. Place as many items as possible in each box.
- Gather
packaging material such as bubble wrap,
newspaper, paper bags, plastic bags, or plastic sheets to place in the
box with
the phones. Make sure there isn’t a lot of extra room in the box for
the phones
to move around
- Seal
all box openings with shipping tape to ensure it
is securely sealed for transportation.
- Go
to the website, choose "MassRecycle" as your charitable recipient from the first menu, enter your information,
and print
off the shipping label with our address already on it (additionally, our address is
listed below).
- Label
each box as part of the whole shipment, using
the label link in the email that will be sent to you. For example,
indicate
"1 of 3", "2 of 3", and “3 of 3"

Can you help
MassRecycle grow this program?
MassRecycle is looking into setting up MORE collection
sites across
Massachusetts. Offices, town halls and transfer statiosn are great
places for collection boxes. The boxes are small and can fit on a
tabletop. All supplies will be delivered to you at no cost, and
the program is easy to maintain. Please contact Megan Harrington
at 617-312-5671 or Megan@massrecycle.org
if you are interested in setting up a collection box at your
office.
