MASSRECYCLE is pleased to present the R3 Plenary Panel covering the current challenges to recycling caused by the shifting commodity markets and changing waste stream, how industry is adapting, and the need for improved education around waste diversion.
Dylan de Thomas, Resource Recycling
Dylan de Thomas is the editorial director at Resource Recycling, Inc., producing and directing content for Resource Recycling, Plastics Recycling Update and E-Scrap News as well as the Resource Recycling Conference, the Plastics Recycling Conference and the E-Scrap Conference. He also researches and speaks on a variety of issues facing the recycling industry at conferences around North America.
Mike Durfor, NRRA
Michael Durfor is the Executive Director of the Northeast Resource Recovery Association (NRRA). Since 2008, he has improved member services and technical support programs, landed Federal Grants and EPA Region 1 Merit Awards for the NRRA School Recycling Club programs, and introduced MSW and C&D contract negotiation and bids to NRRA services. Despite market turmoil, Mike has maintained movement of material at increasing volumes and competitive pricing for NRRA members.
Daniel Lantz, Green by Nature EPR
Daniel Lantz is the Chief Operating Officer for Green by Nature EPR, the company that manages residential recyclables across all of British Columbia. Dan has more than 25 years of experience, working for the paper packaging, plastics packaging and newspaper industries on packaging/ stewardship issues. He worked with Stewardship Ontario on the Blue Box Program Plan and wrote the Pay-In-Model calculating Stewards’ fees by material. Dan has written or presented upwards of 100 papers on diversion.
Dave Keeling, Steel Recycling Institute
